How do I order and what happens then?

1. You can order by using our online form or by telephoning us.
2. Once your order has been submitted we will contact you (usually by email) to ensure you understand what to do next (the address to send your images to will be in the email we send you).
3. Pack up your photos and send them to us There is some advice on how to do this in our FAQ pages.
4. When we receive your photos we will first let you know that we have received them.
5. Then we go through your photos and put together an order which we will ask you to confirm. This is so that you don't have to bother too much about what you tell us and we will then only charge you for what you actually send to us.
6. We then put the order in the que for scanning.
7. We will then let you know when the scanning starts and when it is completed (there is likely to be a delay of several days between starting and finishing).
8. Whenever we handle your photos we always wear protective gloves and take measure to eliminate dust. You photos will be dusted with compressed air but otherwise left untouched.
   The scan once photos are then scanned individually and each scan is inspected and the best scan possible produced.
   The cheap and chearful approach is done by machine (this is the same service that many others offer as their best and only approach). This involves the use of a paper feeder which uses rubber rolers to drag the photo through the scanner. Photos not in perfect condition can suffer with this kind of rough treatment. This process also inevitably pulls dust into the scanner which will reduce the quality of the finished scan. We do inspect the finished scans but only to ensure that the images have all been produced.
9. Once the scanning is complete we will upload some small images to a web site so you can see what has been done. If, for any reason, you are not 100% happy with any of the scans you will have the option of having the photo rescanned or just not paying for it. We simply ask that people who want the Bronze standard of scanning understand they will not get the quality of scan that the Gold Standard offers.
10. We then send out the final order so you can pay (you can pay be card via the Paypal system or by cheque). Once payment has cleared we will package up and send back your photos and the new scans for you to enjoy.

We try to make this process as stress free for you as we can. We will not do anything you don't want us to and we will not charge you for anything you do not want.
