Slides to CD/DVD
(see other photo scanning options here)
Why should I bother to get my slides scanned to disk?
- Slides make great photos but they do have limitations. As soon as a slide has been developed it starts to deteriorate, this process is very slow but after several years it starts to become noticable, if left too long the slide will lose its picture.
- Scanning slides to CD/DVD keeps the photos in good condition and provided the disks are looked after there is no reason that your photos should lose any of their vibrancy from the day they were taken.
- Slides are also not as easy to view as more normal photos but with a digital scan it becomes easy (and pretty cheap) to get photo prints from your scans.
- Perhaps the greatest advantage, though, is that your photos are now in digital form. Today, in this digital age, there are also many more ways to enjoy photos but all of these demand that the pictures are in a digital form. Having slides scanned enables you to enjoy the pictures in new ways.
- Sometimes we need more than one copy of a slide. Scanning is an ideal way to give copies of photos to others.
